Qatar Airways to showcase A380 first seat at WTM

Between the 3rd and 6th November Qatar Airways will be present at the World Travel Market (WTM) taking place at London’s Excel Exhibition and Convention Centre.
The annual event, which attracts over 50,000 attendees from more than 180 countries and regions, generated over £2.2 billion of new business in 2013.

Qatar Airways has announced that it will be showcasing the A380 First Class seat at the Qatar Tourist Authority stand, ME100, for the duration of the event. Visitors will be able to experience first-hand the fully flat bed which is 81 inches long and 33 inches wide and boasts a 26 inch High Definition touch screen entertainment system. Qatar Airways cabin crew, renowned for their 5-star service, will be on hand to assist visitors who wish to explore the facilities and comfort of the seat. Qatar Airways will also be represented at the event by the UK sales team.

Qatar Tourism Authority and Qatar Airways will launch a social media competition at WTM to celebrate the recent launch of Qatar Airways’ new A380 aircraft operating from London to Doha. Visitors to the stand will be encouraged to take a selfie in the First Class seat tagging #OurA380Selfie for a chance to win a luxury break to Doha with Qatar Airways.

Qatar Airways took delivery of its first A380 on 17th September 2014. The aircraft is the first of 13 on order and has commenced operations on the QR003 and QR004 London-Doha services.

Featuring a tri-class configuration of First, Business and Economy Class seating over two decks, the Qatar Airways A380 is designed to offer the airline’s signature five-star service with outstanding in-flight entertainment and service on board. There are a total of 517 seats, with eight in First Class, 48 in Business Class and 461 seats in Economy Class.

During WTM Qatar Airways will launch an A380 advertising campaign on the prominent M4 corridor to and from Heathrow and at the highest footfall zone 1 underground stations. At the same time a high reach multi panel display will be erected along Cromwell Road, the UKs largest outdoor ad opportunity and a leading artery into London’s city centre.

With the brand message It’s all in the detail, the campaign highlights the details that make the Qatar Airways A380 truly stand out amongst its competitors, such as the understated and elegant contemporary Arabian design and European finishing creating a peaceful sanctuary in the sky.

Wider seats, low noise levels, draught free air circulation and accurate temperature control are among the many advancements on the Qatar Airways A380 that reduce the feeling of fatigue normally experienced by passengers after a long flight.

On the 4th November at Vogue House in London, Qatar Airways and the Qatar Tourist Authority will be celebrating the launch of the Exclusive Supplement in Conde Nast Traveller magazine featuring a dedicated 8-page section on art, activities, history and cuisine of Qatar as the “Gulf capital of culture” including the national carrier Qatar Airways.
