Scottish food takes the spotlight at Highland Show Race night

The best of Scottish food and drink is taking centre stage at a special event this weekend, which will transform Hamilton Park Racecourse into a mini Highland Show.
The venue’s catering partners, Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events, has unveiled a sumptuous menu featuring an array of local produce including Isle of Mull cheddar, MacSween’s haggis and Ayrshire smoked bacon, for hospitality guests attending the Highland Show Racenight on Saturday 9th July.

The themed event, which opens its doors at 12pm, will feature a Food & Drink Zone with a variety of Sodexo’s suppliers, including McGhee’s Family Bakery and Scavi & Ray Prosecco, offering free samples. Free donuts and fantastic produce such as Scottish cheeses, jams, chutney, breads and pate will also be provided by supermarket Morrisons.  

Other highlights of the family-friendly day include a mini petting zoo, sheepdog trials and an interactive farm-machinery zone.  

David Trotter, Account Director at Sodexo Prestige Stadia & Racecourses, said “Our chefs have put great, local produce at the heart of every dish and we look forward to serving more than 400 guests across our exclusive boxes, Dukes Restaurant and dedicated owners and trainers areas.”  

Vivien Kyles, Chief Executive at Hamilton Park Racecourse, said: “The entire racecourse is being totally transformed for an entertaining and educational agricultural showpiece. Topped off with excellent food and drink and the usual high quality racing on the track, there is something for all the family at this event – with free admission for all under 18s.”
