Ladies Day at the Roxburghe Shooting School unveils new activities including tomahawk throwingeWomen in the Scottish Borders are set to learn the art of tomahawk throwing as plans for a series of new activities are unveiled at the Roxburghe Shooting School located at the Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course.
Partnering with the hotel to offer an adrenaline-packed day for thrill seekers and food lovers, sharply-dressed women will enjoy a tomahawk throwing experience followed by a luxury afternoon tea with artisan sandwiches and freshly baked scones at the Roxburghe’s Chez Roux restaurant.
Following the launch of the first Ladies Day event earlier in the year, the shooting school is expanding its offering and introducing new outdoor activities for all levels with the tomahawk throwing launching at the next event on Saturday 28 May.
Tracy Meston, the UK’s only female Clay Pigeon Shooting Association Level 3 coach and tutor said: “Our first event at the Roxburghe was a roaring success and our clients are always eager to try something new. We’ve taken this on board and are introducing our exiting new activities with our femme fatales.
“We have been revamping the shooting school and are getting a great response particularly amongst women who are looking to do something a bit different. Although a traditional sport, knife throwing isn’t something that’s currently offered at many shooting schools however we have a great appetite for adrenaline packed experience in the Borders and I am sure the tomahawk experience won’t disappoint.”
David Robertson, general manager, the Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Club said: “This type of event is really popular with guests at the hotel as it caters for beginners and more advanced levels and offers a fun day out with a well-earned, relaxing treat in the hotel afterwards.”
Tomahawk throwing, archery and clay pigeon shooting experiences are available at the Roxburghe Shooting School for men and women looking to improve their skills or try something new. Children are also welcomed with activity dates organised for the summer holidays.
The hotel offers a range of outdoor activities on its grounds and the wider Roxburghe estate including fishing on the River Tweed and golf on a championship course as well as culinary experiences from the Chez Roux restaurant overseen by legendary chef Albert Roux, OBE, KFO.
