The Famous Grouse Experience shorlisted for Best Visitor Experience

The Famous Grouse Experience at Glenturret Distillery in Crieff has been shortlisted for Best Visitor Experience Award at the forthcoming Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions (ASVA) awards which will be held in Crieff Hydro this Thursday.

Scotland’s oldest and most visited distillery has already battled it out against some high calibre competition from ASVA 450 visitor attractions across the country to make it onto the shortlist alongside Drum Castle and Camera Obscura and World of Illusions.

The awards will be presented at ASVA Annual Conference 2015, whose speakers include Liz Cameron OBE- CEO, Scottish Chambers of Commerce, Stephen Leckie - CEO, Crieff Hydro Hotel and Charlie Smith - Marketing Director, VisitScotland.

The Famous Grouse Experience has so far this year secured nominations for Whisky Visitor Attraction of the Year, a title which it won last year, and Whisky Visitor Attraction Manager for The Famous Grouse Experience’s General Manager Stuart Cassells, firmly placing it as one of Scotland’s top visitor attractions.

It has been a busy year for Scotland’s most popular whisky visitor attraction. Hot on the heels of last year’s Royal Visit and a £250,000 upgrade to its key visitor areas and café, this year The Famous Grouse Experience announced a partnership with Wilde Thyme, opening up a five-star dining experience for visitors, as well as extending their distillery exclusive Bottle Your Own range to mark the achievements of tennis champion, Andy Murray.

Last week the distillery marked 240 years of distilling whisky on the same site in Crieff with a successful world record attempt for the most people to raise a traditional Scottish dram with over 150 visitors taking part.

Stuart Cassells, General Manager at The Famous Grouse Experience, said:   “It is great news to be shortlisted for Best Visitor Experience Award, testimony to the hard work and dedication of the team in welcoming tens of thousands of visitors every year. We know we have a world-class venue that is enjoyed by so many people every year and everyone here at The Famous Grouse Experience is delighted that our visitor attraction is being recognised.
