The new website is the latest stage in Convention Edinburgh’s strategic business development plan and collateral rebranding, which aims to expand its main marketing and sales activity beyond the UK and Europe. Increasing its focus on North American market, last year Convention Edinburgh attended IMEX America for the first time, where it also premiered a new business tourism promotional film, ‘This is Conferencing’. The film now features on the new website’s homepage.
One of the website’s objectives is to capture the diversity and quality of Edinburgh’s business tourism offering, while remaining accessible and adaptive to the needs of anyone hoping to host a conference in the city. As a result, the online portal is packed with relevant advice, supporting facts and figures, video content and image library access, all geared to helping bring bid proposals to life and secure future events for Edinburgh.
Full details of additional Convention Edinburgh services, including its dedicated Convention Accommodation Booking service (CABs), the new delegate Edinburgh Rewards Card and a detailed accessibility guide for delegates, have been integrated to the new website for the first time.
Convention Edinburgh’s successful Ambassador Programme also features predominately on the new website. Deeper insight and inspiration via case studies, video interviews and testimonials, reinforce the crucial role the 500 strong network of academic and business professionals play, supporting association bids and promoting Edinburgh as a conference destination. It is a partnership that has resulted in generating bid wins worth over £510m in economic impact for the city in the last ten years.
Individuals planning to attend a conference will also find the mobile-friendly website full of engaging content designed to facilitate every aspect of their trip, covering travel recommendations, interactive city transport and conference venue maps and accommodation overviews. The site also highlights post-event socialising and team building activities, with guides to the city’s popular attractions and Edinburgh’s acclaimed restaurant and bar scene.
