The first networking evening of the year took place on Wednesday 14th January at the newly branded The Roxburghe. Hosted by the venue finding agency, the event drew a select audience of PAs from a wide range of industries, who networked with peers while enjoying tempting nibbles and a glass of bubbles against the backdrop of the luxury Georgian Hotel.
Guests were also treated to an informative demonstration on pairing food and wines by Paul O’Donoghue from Bibendum Wine, and a presentation by guest speaker Darcie Tanner who shared hot tips on how to use LinkedIn to boost your personal profile.
‘It was important to us to build on the success of last year’s events and focus on incorporating skill or topics that are pertinent to the PA world.’ said Pauline Beattie, Head of Sales – Scotland at Conference Care. ‘Therefore, whilst PAs made the most of the exclusive networking opportunity, they also added valuable skills to their professional portfolio.’
‘I particularly liked the presentation on how to use LinkedIn, it certainly made me think about how best to use LinkedIn going forward.’ said Linda McLoughlin, PA to the Director of Information & Technology Strategy at Standard Life plc. ‘I thoroughly enjoyed the evening; it was well organised and very informative - I am already looking forward to the next one.’
Conference Care was instrumental in supporting the Edinburgh PA Networking Group from its inception in 2014, developing the events alongside the committee of experienced and well connected PA's from companies including the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, Venture Trust, SkyScanner & Russell Investments. The next event is scheduled for April.
