Those looking to learn, develop and be part of Scotland's leading resort are invited to central belt recruitment drive

People in Edinburgh and Glasgow are being given the chance to embark on a career in one of Scotland’s leading resorts as Macdonald Aviemore Resort brings its recruitment roadshow to the central belt.
A team from the highland resort will be welcoming enthusiastic applicants to Macdonald Holyrood Hotel, Edinburgh on Sunday 18 January and to the Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow on Monday 19 January. With a wide range of hospitality opportunities to fill across four hotels in the resort, the event will be Macdonald Aviemore Resort’s biggest recruitment drive to date.

Those looking to take their first step on to the hospitality ladder and recruited from the roadshow may also benefit from a place at the new Aviemore Hospitality Academy that has been established by the resort in conjunction with Inverness College and as part of University Highlands & Islands.  Over a 12 month period and through a combination of on-the-job and day release sessions with Inverness College, students will receive (SVQ recognised) training in all aspects of hospitality with a view to being fast-tracked into management.

With over £5million currently being invested in the development of the resort, including the recently completed 98 bedrooms in Macdonald Highlands Hotel and the opening of the state of the art Aviemore Activity Centre, the recruitment drive reflects a focus to firmly establish the resort as one of Scotland’s leading leisure and conference destination.

Angela McLean, People Development Manager, Macdonald Aviemore Resort, explained: “The Aviemore Hospitality Academy reflects our commitment to promote hospitality as a career of choice. At the recruitment days in Glasgow and Edinburgh we want to recruit the right people for the right position and individual’s with and without prior hospitality experience.

“From trainee receptionist and beauty therapist to F&B supervisor, conference and events co-ordinator, human resources manager and maintenance assistants, we are looking for people with a smile on their face and the right attitude to ensure Macdonald Aviemore Resort continues to offer the very highest standards of service to our leisure and business guests.”

The recruitment day will start promptly at 2pm and run until 5pm, during which time attendees will be able to meet with Macdonald Aviemore Resort’s operations team to gain insight into a career path with the 2013 – 2014 AA Hotel Group of the Year. The event will also include food and drink sampling opportunities, career advice sessions and group activities.

Roles will be actively recruited for the following areas: reception; housekeeping; food and beverage, conference and events, property maintenance, leisure services (beauty therapy), human resources and finance.
