Now in its eleventh year, DEVEX 2014 is run jointly by the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain (PESGB), the Society for Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and the Aberdeen Formation Evaluation Society (AFES) and is supported by the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC).
DEVEX 2014 is a two-day Conference and Exhibition which will focus on the theme of ‘Adding Value by Accelerating Activity’ to emphasise the urgency of developing remaining resources before the infrastructure reaches the end of its economic life. The Conference attracts geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers, petroleum engineers, production technologists, well engineers and drilling engineers from Scotland, Europe and beyond. Papers for the programme are still being sought, with the deadline being Monday 27th January 2014.
Senior industry figures will be delivering keynote speeches on both days of the Conference, which this year will be opened on Tuesday 6th May by Pete Jones, Managing Director of TAQA Bratani. The featured keynote speaker on the second day of the Conference will be Crawford Anderson, Vice President UK Geomarket for Baker Hughes.
DEVEX 2014 will also feature a poster session and competition, along with a dedicated event and networking session for Young Professionals.
Peter Brand, Chair of DEVEX 2014, commented: “I’m very pleased to be able to announce the 11th DEVEX Conference. This year’s innovations include an extended field trip on 8th May which will be integrated with the morning core workshop. The programme of presentations on field and technical developments is starting to come together and will be entertaining and valuable as usual. I look forward to welcoming you to the AECC on 6th May.”
Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director says: “DEVEX returns for its 11th year at AECC, the National Energy Exhibition Centre, this is a key event in the industry which attracts delegates from all over Europe. DEVEX takes place in May, in which we also welcome the annual All-Energy and Skipper Expo International Exhibitions.”
