“Y” business is important

Scottish Business Tourism event attracts top speakers to encourage the industry to evolve and engage with the future… and a demanding ‘Generation Y’

Four generations of audiences to reach. One chance to get inside their minds.  A high level Scottish Business Tourism event next month is set to bring together top global experts to reveal revolutionary new ways for Scottish businesses to communicate with their customers and clients.

The Business Tourism Scotland Conference at the Glasgow SECC on Monday 11 November 2013 is set to attract over 300 business people from across the country’s thriving business tourism industry to discover how to maximise opportunities through utilising ground breaking technology and trends.

An industry steering group has worked closely with VisitScotland, Scottish Enterprise, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, Marketing Edinburgh, Dundee and Angus Convention Bureau, and Visit Aberdeen to organise the event.

Top speakers will include Dr Paul Redmond, made famous for his studies into generational theory and how businesses can engage effectively with Baby Boomers, Generation X, Generation Y and the Millennials. 

Renowned Event Producer Clare Amsel will join Million Dollar Round Table Director Ray Kopcinski to look at the new technology which is taking over the world and the importance of businesses realising that ‘the future is now’.

Personality profiling expert, Chris Elmitt will show delegates how to get inside the mind of their clients with an interactive session looking into the human psyche, and global technology and trends experts, Cisco Live! will reveal how practical improvements can be made to futurise business methods to drive value, growth and productivity in organisations.

This year’s conference sees the introduction of a ‘Local Heroes’ session, with organisations such as the team behind popular #ScotlandHour and Machrihanish Dunes Golf Club and others showing examples of best practice through collaboration, social media, customer service, people development and sustainability.  And delegates will get an exclusive opportunity to ‘Meet the Buyers’ and find out what business tourism customers are looking for from Scotland.

"Business tourism is not just about cities - we've already seen that  the whole of Scotland has a wealth of distinctive venues and top class accommodation that can easily lend itself to hosting conferences and trophy events."

The Business Tourism Scotland Conference is on Monday 11 November 2013 at the SECC in Glasgow from 09.00 – 18.00.  The event is aimed at owners, senior directors and managers from the Scottish Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibition (MICE) industries or supplier companies associated with these industries
