In his new role, Neil will work closely with general manager, Alan Harbisher, in managing operations on a day-to-day basis, food & beverage operations, conference and banqueting, front desk as well as housekeeping of the 100 plus staff hotel located at the east side of Princes Street.
With over 20 years in hospitality, Neil, from Glasgow and now living in Stockbridge in Edinburgh, graduated from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen with a BA in Hospitality Management and spent some time on the high seas working on the prestigious cruise ship, the QE2.
Back on dry land, Caskie moved to Ireland to take up the post of bar and restaurant manager in The Merrion Hotel in Dublin and then spent some time as resident manager of the Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Resort, Co. Limerick. After a short spell with the Special Olympics on the Limerick 2009 Games, Caskie returned to Scotland to work with Macdonald hotels in Aviemore before joining Apex Waterloo Place in March.
