Initially launched in 2010, ‘Operation Zenith’ is a five year road safety initiative supported by a number of partner agencies including the Association of Motorcycle Dealers for the North East of Scotland; Moray, Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Councils; the North East Camera Safety Partnership; the Fire and Police Service and Aberdeenshire Community Safety Partnership. The initiative aims to cut the number of motorcyclists involved in collisions within the Grampian area, by highlighting to motorcyclists their vulnerability on the roads.
Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director commented: “It is great to have such a forward thinking initiative launching at Wheels 2013. Road safety is of paramount importance, impacting everyone whether they drive, walk or cycle which is why the work of Operation Zenith is so worthwhile.”
The Team at Operation Zenith will be attending Wheels 2013 to launch their road safety campaign, providing valuable safety information to road users. Wheels 2013 offers a platform for companies involved with wheeled vehicles from motorbikes to cycles, cars, trucks and accessories, to showcase their products to local, regional and national enthusiasts. The event will have something for everyone with opportunities for children to get up close and experience the products on show, ensuring the event appeals to families as well as enthusiasts. Wheels 2013 will take place on Sunday 21st April at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre from 10am to 4pm.
