MARITIM Hotels goes from strength to strength

MARITIM proArte Hotel Berlin
MARITIM Hotels is looking positively to the future following a record year end, with an increased turnover of 450.4 million euros, up 16.4 million euros on last year.  The company’s gross operating profit reached 130.2 million euros.   This impressive growth is attributed to a number of factors; the opening of two new hotels, Hotel Galatzo in Mallorca and Crystals Beach Hotel in Mauritius, as well as significant investment towards the upgrade and modernisation of multiple properties in Germany, including Munich, Cologne, Stuttgart and Hannover.

Direct sales have also played a large part.  MARITIM Hotels successfully re-launched its multi-lingual website over 12 months ago, which now boasts an identical booking engine shared between desktop, tablet and smartphone, and has since seen a 50% growth in online bookings.

Strategically, MARITIM Hotels is in a strong position for future growth, recently announcing the opening of a new hotel in Amsterdam, and it has just signed leases for two more properties in major cities in China.

Director of International Sales, Mark Spivey, comments: “Our year end results are very promising and MARITIM Hotels is well prepared for the future.  We will continue with our extensive refurbishment programme in Europe, redesigning the bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as improving lobbies, restaurants, bars and conference facilities, making our hotels even more attractive to both business and leisure customers.  With this high level of investment, we expect a marked increase in sales at these hotels.

“Our business development plan is proving most successful too.  In the last 12 months we have opened two new hotels; returning to Mallorca to Hotel Galatzo and introducing a stunning four star family-friendly property in Mauritius with Crystals Beach Hotel.  Both properties are performing well.”

Also contributing to the success of MARITIM Hotels is the rapid increase in the Middle East market, which is out-performing all other markets due to its large business bookings, many requiring longer stays and requesting superior products, such as suites.  India is growing too, with the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, H.E. Narendra Damodardas Modi, recently staying at the MARITIM Grand Hotel Hannover.

Mark continues: “We are committed to our expansion plans, not only in Europe with the new hotel in Amsterdam, but also in China.  We are also actively seeking out new markets and have witnessed how beneficial this can be with the recent surge in travel from the Middle East market.  As a company we are looking forward to the next 12 months; it is certainly very exciting times for MARITIM Hotels.”

MARITIM Hotels is Germany’s largest privately owned hotel operator.  With 36 first class deluxe hotels in Germany and 14 hotels around the world in locations as diverse as Mauritius, Mallorca, Turkey, Egypt, Malta and China, MARITIM welcomes thousands of business and leisure travellers every year and is committed to delivering an exemplary experience for every guest during their stay.
