Blazing the trail as the resort’s first local employee to transfer abroad within the InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG), the InterContinental Fiji team said farewell to their colleague Param Reddy this week. A result of the company’s ‘Room to Grow’ program, the resort proudly announced Mr. Reddy’s appointment to the IHG IT team in the Northern Territory of Australia.

Only 18 months after joining the IT department at InterContinental Fiji, his commitment to delivering excellence, and personal development goals has seen Mr. Reddy promoted to Area IT Coordinator for six IHG properties in the Northern Territory. The move also created opportunity for InterContinental Fiji employee Sylvester Verma to take the next step in his career by filling Mr Reddy’s previous role of IT Coordinator.

Through ‘Room to Grow’ IHG supports and develops their people to pursue rewarding careers. This is achieved through personal development plans, structured learning, on-the-job performance reviews, and the IHG job referral program.
