Craig joins The Real Mary King’s Close, off Edinburgh’s Royal Mile from a cinematic background, working for Apollo Cinemas and the Vue Group. Having spent the last few years travelling around cinemas around the country, he is enjoying returning to his Edinburgh roots to manage the award-winning heritage attraction, which provides underground tours of some of the city’s ‘lost’ streets to more than 150,000 visitors a year.
“In the cinema sector, you rely upon the many film companies to deliver a good product, but here my role is absolutely at the coal face: to lead the team that influences every aspect of the guest experience to really bring the stories of this hidden street to life for every person passing through the doors,” comments Craig.
“The Real Mary King’s Close has a superb team of talented tour guide actors and interpreters delivering the guest experience, supported by a host of operational staff who are very passionate about sharing our special key to Edinburgh’s past with all our visitors. I am very much looking forward to working with them to further develop the experience for everyone who comes to see this hidden gem of Old Edinburgh.”
