Royal College of Physicians strengthens AV team with three new members

New AV team members, Fabrizio Barbisan, William Gilchrist and Luca Palese
The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) Meetings and Events department has announced the expansion of its AV team, appointing three new members.
Fabrizio Barbisan and William Gilchrist both join the AV team in the role of Audio Visual Technicians. Fabrizio, who has previous experience working as an Audio Visual technician at EXPO Milan, graduated from the School of Audio Engineering Milan in 2015 before joining the historic venue.

William joins the RCP straight out of university where he studied Music Performance and Recording at the London College of Music. He also gained experience as a Technician at Imperial College in Kensington before joining the college. Both new team members will work as Front of House Technicians setting up the AV equipment in the RCP’s various rooms and assisting the organisers.

Alongside these two new appointments, the RCP has appointed Luca Palese to the role of Live Events Technician. Luca had been working for the historic venue as a freelancer since January 2014, working full time from May 2016. Luca’s new role will see him responsible for the AV at larger events and he will be one of the dedicated AV technicians looking after events from start to finish. Before joining the venue, Luca travelled around Italy delivering an audio-visual service and worked in the restaurant business whilst gaining his diploma in Music Technology and Sound Recording at the IMW at the Barbican.

Clive Ostler, Director, Facilities and Events Marketing, at  the RCP, comments: “We are so pleased to welcome three new team members to help strengthen the AV team here at the RCP. This year we have focused heavily on improving our AV and tech facilities at the venue and it is imperative we have a team of well-trained AV technicians to make sure all our offerings run smoothly, so we could not be more delighted to have Luca, Fabrizio and William on board.”
