Sarah Kergon, Glenda Carlyle and Eilidh Hughes
Building on a record year for conference and corporate events, the Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre (SECC) has further strengthened its corporate team.
Glenda Carlyle will lead the enhanced team in the newly appointed role of Senior Sales Manager, Corporate Sales. Her role will be to further increase revenue to the SECC from the corporate meetings sector, targeting large, prestigious brands as well as the local Scottish corporate market.

Glenda is joined by Emma Richards, the SECC’s recently appointed Sales Manager, Corporate Sales. Emma’s career spans a number of high profile venues including 200 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, Malmaison and Hotel Du Vin.

The three-strong Corporate Sales team is completed by long-standing member Sarah Kergon, Account Manager, Corporate Sales, who brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to developing both new and existing clients.

Conference Sales will be supported by Eilidh Hughes who joins the overall SECC conference team of ten people as Sales Research Executive, following roles at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and Glasgow 2014.

Welcoming the increased resource for Corporate Sales, Kathleen Warden, Director of Conferences at the SECC said: “Corporate business continues to be a growth sector for the SECC and our sights are firmly set on making the most of the corporate market potential. We are a flexible and versatile venue that can accommodate events of all sizes and complexities. When combined with first class delivery by people who are always prepared to go the extra mile for clients, I’ve no doubt our strengthened team will help us attract even more corporate business – both large and small”.

In 2015/16 the SECC enjoyed its strongest year to date for conference and corporate events business, including an 18 percent increase in turnover and an increase of 20% in gross profit on 2014/15. The venue hosted a total of 55 events during 2015/16, including 25 from the corporate sector.
