Sue is highly respected in the hospitality industry and brings a wealth of luxury hotel experience, having spent the last four years as general manager of Cliveden House, in Taplow, Berkshire, where she has overseen the refurbishment of this iconic property.
Prior to this she was General Manager at the Bath Priory for 10 years, during which time she also oversaw Gidleigh Park in Devon and Lower Slaughter Manor in the Cotswolds.
Christian Landolt, owner of Whatley Manor said “On behalf of everyone at the hotel I am delighted to welcome Sue Williams to Whatley Manor. We are thrilled to have her on board and it feels like a very natural pairing especially with Sue’s extensive experience in the Relais & Châteaux five-star country house sector and knowledge of the local area. She joins us at an exciting time for the property as we launch a new range of spa treatments in partnership with Natura Bissé and build on the recognition received for our cuisine in the Good Food Guide, as one of the top 50 restaurants in the UK, with a score of 8 out of 10”.
Commenting on her new role, Sue said “I am excited to join Whatley Manor and to be returning to my home county of Wiltshire. Having lived only a few miles away from the hotel at Grittleton for a number of years I have admired the way the property has grown and developed its superb reputation over the last 13 years. I am looking forward to working with the team as we take the hotel into the next phase of its development and strive to ensure Whatley Manor’s success story continues”.
