Hotel group targets weddings and events growth with team expansion

Martin Nicholas and Nicola O’Donnell
A family of Cornish hotels has expanded its team with the appointment of a regional events and marketing manager.

Providence Hospitality, which manages the Old Quay House in Fowey and the Rosevine on the Roseland Peninsula, has appointed Nicola O’Donnell to the role to build the event offerings across both venues, including weddings and corporate events.

O’Donnell has 10 years of experience in events and marketing both in London and Cornwall, having previously worked at Lusty Glaze in Newquay.

She said: “It is a real privilege to work with a such a strong portfolio of venues that is growing rapidly. The two hotels differ in their offerings, but both with quality at their heart. I’m looking forward to working with clients to create special events in amazing locations - utilising each of the property’s unique features, such as the waterfront terrace at the Old Quay House and breathtaking views at the Rosevine.”

The Rosevine, with 15 suites and apartments, can cater for weddings and events for up to 65 people, with the option of expanding the capacity by placing a marquee or tipi on the lawn overlooking Porthcurnick beach. The 11-bedroom Old Quay House specialises in more intimate events, hosting up to 38 for a sit-down meal or 70 for waiter-served canapés.

Providence Hospitality has also promoted Martin Nicholas to the newly-created role of regional manager, following his time as hotel manager at the Old Quay House. In this position Nicholas will head up the management and expansion of Providence throughout the South West.

Martin adds: “We have solid expansion plans in the South West, and as we grow across the region it is increasingly important to maintain the level of service and quality that people expect from Providence Hospitality hotels. I’m delighted that Nicola can use her marketing expertise to continue developing the Providence family, especially when it comes to events and weddings.”
