Singapore Tourism Board appoints new Regional Director for Europe

Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has announced the appointment of Ms Tan Yen Nee as Regional Director, Europe as of 1 June 2016. In her role, Yen Nee will spearhead the strategic planning of business development initiatives and market Singapore as a compelling tourist destination in Europe.

As part of her remit, Yen Nee will oversee STB’s international network in Europe through the London (where she is based), Frankfurt and Moscow offices. Yen Nee takes over from Chang Chee Pey, who has been promoted to Assistant Chief Executive, International Group as of 1 September 2016.  

Yen Nee has been with STB for over 10 years and has amassed a diverse portfolio of skills; working on projects ranging from corporate communications, destination branding to healthcare and education.  

Her most recent role in headquarters was the Director for Lifestyle Precincts Development, enabling precincts in Singapore to develop in a dynamic and sustainable manner, benefiting both locals and visitors alike. As the Deputy Director for Enrichment, Yen Nee provided strategic direction and drove the marketing and development efforts to profile Singapore as a prime destination for advanced medical care. Yen Nee was also Assistant Director for Brand Development from 2008 to 2010, during which the YourSingapore destination brand was developed and launched.

In addition to Yen Nee’s appointment, STB is also announcing the appointment of Jason Chan to Area Director for Northern and Western Europe as of 25 July 2016. Jason had served as the Assistant Director of Sports Business and Partnerships since 2013, overseeing world-renowned Sports projects like the Grand Prix Season Singapore, BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global and HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens. Prior to that, Jason was involved in international relations, industry and partnerships development of Singapore’s arts and heritage sector which included partnership development and programme curation for Singapore Arts Festival and Singapore Night Festival.
