Hotel Café Royal announces three new appointments

François-Xavier Schoeffer – Hotel Manager
This month Hotel Café Royal has announced two additions to the team – Benjamin Hofer, Director of Food and Beverage; and Hendrik Hübner, Front of House Manager - and the promotion of François-Xavier Schoeffer to Hotel Manager. Speaking about the new appointments, Hotel Café Royal’s Managing Director Thomas Kochs said “Our people are the most valuable asset we have in the hotel and I wholeheartedly believe that the team is the foundation on which future developments at Hotel Café Royal are built.

Benjamin Hofer - Director of Food and Beverage
With prolific experience in the food and beverage industry, Benjamin has worked as a consultant on some of London’s most exciting restaurants, including Nuno Mendes’s Viajante. Recently, Benjamin worked for Maybourne Hotel Group as Restaurant Director, where, together with the team and Chef Simon Rogan, he opened the critically acclaimed and Michelin-starred Fera at Claridge’s. Earlier in his career, he has been part of the team at The Berkeley as Assistant Food & Beverage Manager. Although much of his work has been based in London, Benjamin is originally from Austria where he studied Tourism Management at the University of Linz.

Hendrik Hübner - Front of House Manager
Hendrik joins Hotel Café Royal from Claridge’s, where he worked for five and a half years in roles including Front Office Manager and Reception Manager. With a passion for luxury hospitality and ensuring guests are looked after in the best possible way, Hendrik will lead a large team as Front of House Manager at Hotel Café Royal. Hendrik also has international hotel experience including roles as Duty Manager at The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa and several properties his native Germany.

François-Xavier Schoeffer – Hotel Manager
Joining Hotel Café Royal in 2013, as Director of Operations, François-Xavier has been a pivotal member of the teams since the opening of the hotel and has established himself in London as a solid contributor to the management of the property. His commitment to the hotel has been recognised and resulted in his promotion as Hotel Manager, which will further establish the leading team.

François’ past experience in the luxury hospitality sector includes management roles at Hotel Café Royal’s sister property Conservatorium Hotel, Amsterdam and Director of Operations at grand dame Parisian Hotel Lutetia. Recently acquired by The Set group, who own Hotel Café Royal and Conservatorium Hotel, Lutetia is currently under renovation and due to re-open in 2017. Born in France, where he studied hotel marketing and management, François-Xavier has worked at several established properties in his home country including Hotel Martinez, Cannes and The Westin Paris.
