New events team takes the helm at Kensington Palace

AAlex Donnelly-Palmer
Historic Royal Palaces has appointed Alex Donnelly-Palmer as the new Events and Operations Manager at Kensington Palace, while Isobel Heaphy has been promoted to Senior Events Executive.
In his new role, Alex will be responsible for organising and overseeing the events team at Kensington Palace and Kew Palace, as well as managing budgets, maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and contractor and supplier management.

Alex has significant experience in a venue setting, having previously worked as Front of House Manager at the Royal Albert Hall, Adelphi and Dominion Theatre where he was responsible for managing front of house teams and training staff in customer service. Alex also worked as Venue Manager at The O2, where he oversaw all elements of world tours coming to London from a venue perspective including Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Ozzy Osbourne, Katy Perry, Andrea Bocelli and Cirque du Soleil.

Alex says: “I am looking forward to continuing the great work that the team have achieved to date at Kensington Palace by further growing the event business and bringing new events to the palace. It is great to be part of a team where the commercials are directly helping to preserve the palaces meaning our clients can actively play their part in ensuring the future of this historical site.”

Alex will work alongside Isobel Heaphy, who has recently been promoted to Senior Events Executive. Isobel, who joined the Kensington Palace events team in 2011, will be responsible for leading the sales team to achieve targets, delivering and managing world-class events at the venue and line managing the Events Coordinator.

Liz Young, Head of Events at Historic Royal Palaces, says: “We are delighted to have Alex on board as Events and Operations Manager at Kensington Palace. His experience working with unique venues stands him in good stead and we are looking forward to utilising his expertise when it comes to working on the show-stopping calendar of events we have coming up at the palace. He will also be instrumental in helping us further increase Kensington Palace’s events business.”
