Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach welcomes new Executive Chef

Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach has announced the appointment of Jorge Cardenas as the new executive chef for the beachfront hotel. Effective immediately, Cardenas will oversee all aspects of the culinary experience and operations at Bistro, the hotel’s full-service beach-chic restaurant.

“We are thrilled to be welcoming such a talented and experienced chef to our team,” said Eduardo Fernandez, the hotel’s general manager. “Jorge brings years of experience, along with a passion for crafting unique dishes and delivering memorable dining experiences for guests. We are confident that he will fit right into the Sonesta family, and contribute to the standard of excellence our guests have come to expect.”

 Cardenas began his career in New York City’s Le Cirque 2000 and Café Boulud, where he trained under famed restaurateur and chef, Andrew Carmellini. Cardenas’ extensive culinary experience includes stints at some of the city’s finest restaurants and hotels, such as Café des Artistes, The Russian Tea Room and The Ritz Carlton.

His achievements led him to Miami, where most recently Cardenas served as chef de cuisine at the Soho Beach House in Miami, Florida. In this role, he was celebrated for his innovative culinary achievements and maintained a successful and efficient staff.
