Grand Hotel & Spa, York welcomes new Head of Hotel Sales & Marketing

Charlotte Hall
Yorkshire’s only 5-star hotel, The Grand Hotel & Spa, has rolled out the red carpet to welcome a new member to their team with Charlotte Hall joining the York venue as Head of Hotel Sales & Marketing.
Charlotte’s appointment comes at an important time for the property, which was acquired by Splendid Hospitality Group last year, after it was recently granted planning permission for a development which will see it double its number of guest rooms, enhance its luxury spa and create a new, purpose built restaurant on what is currently a terrace area.

Having spent 20 years in the hospitality industry, progressing to Regional Sales Manager and then Director of Agency Sales for UK agencies, Charlotte is more than equipped for the challenges ahead and meeting the exacting standards that have become synonymous with the hotel. Coming from Shire hotels, where she was part of the opening team for the Catey award winning Thorpe Park Hotel & Spa in Leeds, Charlotte has previously worked for Corus & Regal.

Prior to joining the hospitality sector, Charlotte lived in Australia for ten years with a career in FMCG and media sales before returning to the UK where she worked in the hotel industry part time, whist completing a Marketing degree. Charlotte has worked on the events committee for the HBAA and is currently Vice Venue Chair, working closely with the association’s Chair and board on the exciting events they plan each year for the industry.

Commenting on joining The Grand, Charlotte said: “It is such an exciting time to be joining the team at the Grand Hotel & Spa and The Splendid Hospitality Group – especially with the future development and expansion plans that are set to begin next year. This is an important new chapter in my career and I am looking forward to being part of this remarkable, prestigious five star hotel.”
