Natural History Museum appoints two new Events Managers

Lucy Meehan and Charlie Womac
The Natural History Museum has expanded its events team with the appointment of two new members of staff. Lucy Meehan joins as Senior Events Manager and Charlie Womack as Events Manager, bringing news areas of expertise to the venue.

Lucy Meehan joins the team from another prestigious historic London venue where she worked for six years, developing her career from Administrative Assistant to Senior Events Manager. She brings with her a wealth of experience of taking spectacular events to life within a Grade I listed building, specialising in conferences, dinners, award ceremonies and weddings.

Lucy Meehan, Senior Events Manager at the Natural History Museum explains: “The maximum capacity at my previous venue was 400 guests standing, so it’s a hugely exciting change and challenge to work at the Museum which weekly holds events for over 600 seated guests. I’m looking forward to working within all the Museum spaces, and particularly welcoming more guests for private functions within the galleries and smaller exhibitions.”

Charlie Womack joins the Museum as an Events Manager with a diverse career spanning all sides of the industry, from running events singlehandedly in-house for a photography studio to managing the catering requirements within two venues.

Charlie Womack, Events Manager at the Natural History Museum comments: “It’s always been a career ambition to work at the Natural History Museum. I’m delighted to be working alongside the fantastic team, as well as building relationships with the suppliers. My experience includes weddings and Bar Mitzvahs so I’ll be expanding this area of the Museum’s private hire weekend business.”

Simon Kershaw, Head of Catering and Events, commented:
“Lucy and Charlie join us in advance of a busy autumn and Christmas season full of exciting and diverse events. I am pleased to welcome both on board and am thrilled to say they have already fully established themselves as part of our team.”
