The prestigious Nam Hai, part of the GHM Collection of luxury hotels, has announced the promotion of Florian Leven as Resident Manager of the elegant property located near Hoi An, Vietnam.  Florian assumes his new role having previously held the position of Executive Assistant Manager since joining the resort in May 2014.

In his new role, Leven will act as General Manager Antony Gill’s right-hand man, directly assisting him in overseeing all aspects of hotel operations.

Leven, a hospitality industry veteran with seventeen years’ experience, has impressed the management team at The Nam Hai over the last year and a half with his successful implementation of effective tools for performance and training as well as playing a key role in maintaining quality control and consistency in day-to-day operations.

“Florian has proven to be a top hotelier, superb leader and essential to our team,” said Anthony Gill, The Nam Hai’s General Manager. “His promotion is very well-deserved."

Leven came to The Nam Hai after a six-year stint in Hawaii, where he served in a variety of roles at Mauni Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows and then at Kahala Hotel & Resort.

German-born, Leven’s hospitality career dates to 1998 where he first acquired a taste for industry with a two year apprenticeship at the Elysee Hotel in Hamburg. He went on to work for the Zurich Marriott Hotel and Badrutt’s Palace Hotel in Switzerland before earning his Masters in Hospitality & Tourism from Johnson & Wales University in the U.S. Leven also holds a certificate in Hotel Revenue Management from Cornell University.
