His vibrant portfolio has given him a vast wealth of knowledge to bring to his new role as general manager. In this position he will be responsible for launching the hotel and seeing it firmly become an intrinsic addition to Bournemouth’s hospitality offering.

Manekshaw joins Hilton with a similarly impressive repertoire. Maneksaw has progressed through the hospitality ranks at lightning speed, beginning as a professional mixologist to, his last role as the deputy hotel manager for food and beverage at Hilton Edinburgh.

Smith joins Manekshaw with 14 years of hospitality experience, having most recently been the simultaneous director of sales at four Holiday Inn Hotels on the south coast. While in this role, Smith generated the highest number of revenue opportunities for the group.

The team combined makes for a formidable force and they are all equally passionate about the south coast’s premier seaside destination and its ongoing development. Horgnies said, “Bournemouth is a fantastic place to live for leisure, social and career opportunities, which makes Hilton the ideal addition to this vibrant town. If you look across the skyline, Bournemouth is peppered with cranes and construction – it’s such an exciting time to join Bournemouth as it really is flourishing. The team we are building here to launch the hotel will be pivotal to its success and I am delighted to lead this force. We have a superb mix of personality, skill and experience which, combined, I have no doubt will ensure the hotel launches to a flying start.”

“It has been a hugely exciting venture to be able to contribute to Bournemouth’s burgeoning hospitality and leisure offering,” said Smith. “This role as director of sales is a fantastic opportunity to utilise my knowledge of the local corporate market, my strong relationships with leisure industry contacts and an extensive network of business contacts. I am confident that with this team I can achieve the high expectations of the new hotel.”

Manekshaw said, “I truly believe that Bournemouth is the perfect location to host our new Hilton hotel. We are increasing the international hospitality offering which will only contribute to Bournemouth’s regeneration and see it become one of the most desirable locations for leisure and tourism on the south coast. It is a privilege to join such a world class team and brand and I can’t wait to be open and see what the first six months has in store.”
