Central Hall Westminster expands team following substantial business growth

Central Hall Westminster today announces the creation of two new roles at the venue following unprecedented and substantial growth in 2014. Neil Parry joins Central Hall as Director of Sales and Events, while Maria Schuett is appointed as Head of Marketing.

Parry joins Central Hall from English Heritage where he had held the position of Head of Hospitality since 2008. His previous roles include General Manager at London Aquarium, Trade Marketing Manager at London Zoo and Trade Marketing Manager at The Tussaud’s Group. Parry comments: “I have been very fortunate in my career to have worked at some great venues and buildings, so to get the chance to work at Central Hall Westminster with all its associated history and iconic status is an amazing opportunity for me.  I am really looking forward to joining the team and continuing to deliver the huge success they have already achieved."

Maria Schuett has been appointed to the newly created role of Head of Marketing, having joined Central Hall as Marketing Manager in 2011.  In this role, Schuett’s existing achievements include re-branding and positioning the venue as one of the UK’s leading conference centres, becoming the first London venue to launch a dedicated mobile website and winning ‘Best Internet/Media Campaign of overseas business in China’ at the China Outbound Tourism Research Institute Awards.

Schuett also developed the multi-award winning ‘Meet The Future’ campaign, a multi-faceted campaign that culminated in a dedicated event technology conference, helping the venue achieve a 53% increase in turnover in the 2013/14 financial year. Maria Schuett comments: “I am passionate about the Central Hall brand and my industry. I am grateful to be working with such a forward-thinking team and venue that can help to shape the industry’s journey into the future with a real educational drive to progress and facilitate change.”

Paul Southern, Managing Director at Central Hall Westminster, adds: “We’ve had some great results at Central Hall over the last couple of years and I’m delighted that we can reinvest this success by growing and developing our team.

“Neil will bring a wealth of experience to the venue and I’m very pleased that we can recognise Maria’s achievements with this newly created role. I look forward to seeing both Neil and Maria continue to take the venue in new, bold directions.”
