Alex Dietzsch
The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali has announced the recent appointment of Mr. Alex Dietzsch as Executive Assistant Manager of Food & Beverage. He has been tasked with the responsibility to revitalize culinary services at the resort and take in-house dining experiences to exciting new heights.
As a German national, Alex served time in the military before embarking on a career in the hospitality industry.  His portfolio includes diplomas in Hotel Management and Financial Management along with certification in Advanced Food Hygiene.

Having worked his way up through the F&B hierarchy, Alex brings a wealth of culinary knowledge and enthusiasm to his new role. He has been with Starwood Hotels & Resorts for almost 10 years and he fully identifies with Westin’s brand philosophy of “Preserving wellness in travel”.

A succession of appointments enabled Alex to work in a number of fascinating destinations including Dubai and Abu Dhabi where he enjoyed exposure to different food cultures. He also gained extensive experience in catering for prestigious automobile and sporting events.

Prior to his arrival in Bali, Alex was Director of Food and Beverage at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok where he oversaw three restaurants and banquet facilities. During this time he was also a member of the Starwood F& B Council Asia Pacific, which involved supporting culinary teams at properties in Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.

Alex will now take charge of the talented F&B team at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali. His first priority will be to give menus and presentation standards a new lease of life. Cuisine at the resort has always been splendidly diverse to satisfy all appetites so this duty will be no small undertaking. However, Alex is confident that his enduring passion for good food will serve him well.

Apart from eating and cooking, Alex enjoys aviation and going out. He is looking forward to immersing himself in Bali’s evolving dining scene where innovative restaurants are opening up on a regular basis. Additionally, Alex is keen to visit areas where local ingredients are grown and he intends to learn more about the island’s traditional dishes.
