Reporting directly to Conferma CEO Simon Barker, Rojas will be responsible for managing Conferma’s banking and travel technology partner relationships to support the continued growth of VCN technology in the region.
The appointment comes on the back of a series of new partners joining Conferma’s global travel payment network in 2014, as the firm continues to strengthen its position at the centre of the corporate travel industry. Rojas joins Conferma at a time when corporations across the Americas are looking to modernise their travel programs to drive policy compliance and streamline time-consuming and error-prone manual invoice reconciliation processes.
Rojas comes to Conferma with a wealth of experience in the travel industry having held a number of senior positions with both travel management companies and technology providers. He joins the company from Concur where he was Director of Business Development and Strategic Alliances for Latin America, responsible for Concur’s strategic banking and travel technology relationships in the region. Prior to that he spent 10 years at BCD Travel where he was Director of Technology Operations - Latin America.
This breadth of expertise gives him an excellent understanding of the issues facing corporations across the region, as well as a clear vision of the seamless processes they are now demanding across a range of booking channels. With adoption of corporate card programs low compared to Europe and the United States, Rojas’s knowledge will enable corporations to leapfrog these dated and inefficient solutions and progress straight into the digital age with VCN technology.
Simon Barker, CEO of Conferma said, “We’re delighted to appoint someone of Andres’ calibre to drive our growth strategy in this strategically important region. With low adoption of legacy payment solutions, and corporate travel expenditure across air and hotels fragmented, reconciling invoices is a real challenge in the region. Payment data is the key to overcoming this. By adopting VCNs, corporations and their travel partners get all the level-three, line item detail they need, perfectly matched by our system, allowing unproductive manual reconciliation to be replaced, and improving both operational efficiency and program compliance.”
Rojas commented, “This is a very exciting time to be joining Conferma. I’m looking forward to helping grow the business in the Americas and to supporting our existing clients. The industry is going through a period of transformation which is creating opportunities across the region as corporations look to modernise their payment processes. Having worked for both technology providers and travel management companies in the past I have a well-rounded view of the challenges facing the market. It will be exciting to show corporations just what Conferma’s innovative technology can do for them.”
