The newly appointed Vice Chairs will work alongside Chairman, Michael Hirst, with a view to forming proposals, for partners of the BVEP, on the future aims, activities and structure of the organisation. The Vice Chairs will also represent the UK events industry in front of stakeholders and other representative bodies. The move will greatlyassist in the effective running of the Partnership, during Michael Hirst’s current term as Chairman of the Tourism Alliance.
The success to date of the BVEP has been achieved by developing a collegiate approach between Partners to key challenges and issues facing their members and the wider industry. The ambition of the Partnership is to move this forward by creating a stronger network for engagement across all the sectors of the UK events industry.
“The Business Visits & Events Partnership continues to grow in relevance both within the UK events industry and in front of wider business, consumer and government audiences,” comments Hirst. “The appointment of four first rate Vice Chairs gives us the opportunity to develop a long term strategy for the Partnership. We’re also looking to increase the impact it has, working alongside the key industry associations, to create an even more effective two way communication on matters of mutual benefit between the Partners.”
The BVEP is formed of 20 associations and organisations within the UK events industry and exists to provide a strong and coherent communication platform between the industry and its stakeholders, be they wider business, government or consumer.
“In Samme, Richard, Simon and Chris, I’m personally delighted to have such a wide range of experience and specialism to both represent the Partnership, and play such a pivotal role in the future of the BVEP,” concluded Hirst.
