Thorsten Dirks to become new Executive Board member of Deutsche Lufthansa AG responsible for Eurowings and Aviation Services

Lufthansa Supervisory Board appoints new Board member for three years
effective 1 May 2017

In its meeting in Frankfurt today, the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG appointed Thorsten Dirks to the Executive Board of the Lufthansa Group. Thorsten Dirks will be taking over the responsibility for the Eurowings Group and the Aviation Services segment on 1 May 2017. He will be succeeding Karl Ulrich Garnadt, who will be retiring from the Executive Board when his contract ends on 30 April 2017. The management contract with Thorsten Dirks has a term of three years. The new Board member will take office in Cologne, the Eurowings Group’s headquarters.

Heike Birlenbach appointed Vice President Sales Lufthansa Group for the new merged EMEA sales region

Changes to the sales structure of the Lufthansa Group have resulted in the reshaping of the current sales areas and senior sales positions being appointed, effective as of 1 January 2017.
Since 2014 Mrs. Heike Birlenbach holds the position of Vice President Sales Europe Lufthansa Group Airlines. As of next year, 2017, she now has been appointed Vice President Sales EMEA Lufthansa Group Airlines. In this position Birlenbach will not only be responsible for all sales and commercial activities in Europe but also in the Middle East and Africa. With this extended responsibility she will lead the newly merged sales area, EMEA, which, as of 2017 will combine the two former sales areas – Europe and Africa/Middle East.

KDS has named Roxana Bressy as its new Chief Executive Officer. She formally assumes the role on December 15. Carlson Rezidor, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, has appointed Adam Bell as Head of TMC for the UK & Ireland.
In his new role, Adam, a hospitality specialist with over 12 years experience in the industry, will manage UK TMC opportunities, account manage all activity for the UK & Ireland, whilst also working with Carlson Rezidor’s Global TMC team to coordinate all other TMC activities.
