Texans descend on Germany for IMEX 2012
A team of Texans will don their cowboy boots and Stetsons to take the “Wild West” to Europe during the annual IMEX exhibition held in Frankfurt, Germany from 22 to 24 May.Regarded as one of the world’s leading exhibitions for meetings, incentive travel and event marketing, over 3,500 exhibitors representing 157 countries will be in attendance at the three day event.
The Texas Tourism booth will be located at stand C180, showcasing what the U.S. state has to offer as a conference destination and engaging with business associations to educate them on the vast array of possibilities the destination holds for this meeting, conferences incentives and events (MICE) market.
Hot on the agenda will be the upcoming F1 event, following the Lone Star State’s capital, Austin, being announced as the home city for the US Formula 1™ from 2012 to 2021. The first race is scheduled for 18th November 2012 and is expected to draw a crowd of more than 120,000 to the track as well as opening up huge possibilities for the MICE market pre and post.
Texas has a diverse range to offer any group size, budget or taste. With an exceedingly good and ever increasing infrastructure and large conference hotels in the central cities including Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio and Austin the choice is endless. Not to mention the ranches where every corporate event has a special “cowboy” touch. Or for more of a contrast, cities such as Galveston and Corpus Christi allure with their location by the sea, and the regions Big Bend, Panhandle Plains and Texas Hill Country inspire with untouched natural landscapes.
With its unique and scenic diversity Texas leaves nothing to be desired. Outside of the meetings, corporates are able to experience nature on a rafting tour of the Rio Grande, hike in the mountains or round of golf under year-round blue skies. Or for those who prefer shopping, culinary delights, wine tastings or sipping a prickly pear cocktail within historical surroundings, anything is possible is Texas.
Texas representatives will include:
American Airlines: Giuseppe Marcario
