IMEX Challenge will build a bee colony for children in Ljubljana
IMEX 2012, at Messe Frankfurt May 22-24, provides further evidence that the event takes CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) seriously. It organises the biennial IMEX Challenge and the second takes place this year.‘After considering a wide variety of CSR proposals’, says Ray Bloom, Chairman and Founder of the exhibition, ‘IMEX judges and staff voted to invite industry volunteers to join them in building a bee colony in Ljubljana, Slovenia’.
From 2-4 July 2012, in keeping with the IMEX Challenge aim to help children and leave a sustainable legacy for their care, 15 volunteers will join staff and patients of the CUDV Training, Occupation and Care Centre in Draga, Slovenia to construct the bee colony from scratch over three days. Once built, it will provide skills training opportunities and a valuable income for the care centre.
The Challenge is part of what is ‘Visionary IMEX’. Formerly called New Vision, it is the umbrella brand for all of the show’s industry-change initiatives.
It will now include the Executive Meeting Forum, which will bring C-level corporate meeting directors to the Frankfurt trade show as well as procurement managers. This will add an influential new dimension to the Hosted Buyer Programme and promises a strong focus on European business issues. It will be facilitated by Terri Breining and Kimberly Meyer, two industry experts who led a similar Forum at IMEX America this year.
