Buyers are invited to attend IMEX either as part of the hosted buyer programme or independently as trade visitors. Just under 3,900 hosted buyers from more than 60 countries attended IMEX 2011 alongside over 5,000 visitors from 90 countries.

Hosted Buyers
The hallmark hosted buyer programme includes economy flights or first class train travel from selected destinations, overnight accommodation, transfers between the airport, hotel and exhibition, hosted buyer lounge access, exclusive registration facilities at the show plus access to the Online Diary. To qualify for the hosted buyer programme, buyers have to meet certain quality criteria and commit to attending four individual appointments per day at the show with exhibitors of their choice.

MCI joins IMEX and MPI to support growth of FLFs

Leading association management company, MCI, has entered into a new collaboration with the IMEX Group, organisers of worldwide exhibitions for the meetings, events and incentive travel industry, and MPI (Meeting Professionals International) to support the Future Leaders Forum (FLF). The global FLF programme is an initiative designed to encourage the best and brightest students to enter the meetings and incentive travel industry by offering education days, networking opportunities and internships.

The continued success of IMEX Frankfurt, celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year, underlines all that the meetings industry represents. In the face of the incredibly speedy development of technology and more and more advanced means of communication, people are still very keen to gather at the Messe Frankfurt.

IMEX Challenge will build a bee colony for children in Ljubljana

IMEX 2012, at Messe Frankfurt May 22-24, provides further evidence that the event takes CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) seriously. It organises the biennial IMEX Challenge and the second takes place this year.
‘After considering a wide variety of CSR proposals’, says Ray Bloom, Chairman and Founder of the exhibition, ‘IMEX judges and staff voted to invite industry volunteers to join them in building a bee colony in Ljubljana, Slovenia’.

New system to help IMEX Hosted Buyers to control emails from exhibitors

The Hosted Buyers scheme for IMEX 2012 will be further strengthened as a result of the successful inaugural IMEX America that was held in Las Vegas in October. Hyatt Hotels will be bringing their clients to the Frankfurt event for the first time, alongside a host of new US intermediaries as part of the Hosted Buyers scheme.
