Experience a feast Fit for a Queen at The Talbot

Two Star Michelin Chef Martin Blunos
Following its relaunch in July and substantial refurbishment works, The Talbot in Ripley is now preparing to launch a feast “Fit for a Queen”, cooked by award-winning Two Star Michelin Chef Martin Blunos. Having cooked for Elizabeth II on the event of her Golden Jubilee in 2002, Martin will recreate the dishes enjoyed by Her Majesty to the letter, along with a very special Silent Pool Rose Gin Cocktail.

The menu will be served both for lunch on 19 October 2016 (priced at £29 per person) and dinner on 21 October 2016 (priced at £60 per person to include canapés on arrival, as well as champagne and additional dessert courses), with Martin on hand to walk diners through the experience and answer questions.

“The Talbot’s mission is to serve an outstanding and versatile range of dishes, featuring creative twists on beloved classics and locally sourced produce”, Blunos commented. “I have been fortunate enough in my career to cook for a huge variety of people, with the task of preparing a meal for Her Majesty a particular highlight. I am thrilled to be given the chance to recreate this at The Talbot and bring these dishes to the people of Surrey.”

Located just 30 minutes from Central London, in the picturesque heart of Ripley village, The Talbot is a 43-bedroom coaching inn located in the historic Surrey countryside, said to have provided the stage for Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton’s love affair in 1798. It has recently benefitted from a £1 million investment, ranging across the restaurant and bar spaces, as well as the events and wedding facilities, and bedrooms.

During this process, Blunos has overseen the development of the new menu, alongside Head Chef Paul Turner. Together they have worked to ensure the new-look menu at the Talbot suits numerous tastes and pockets, whether you’re dropping in for a quick bite midweek, a night out with friends, a quiet table overlooking the refurbished gardens, or a lively family celebration.
