Three new hotels open on Shoal Bay in one yearTraditionally, Anguilla’s East End has been considered the quiet side of the island with most resorts, hotels and restaurants located between The Valley in the centre and the West End. Whilst there has always been a great choice of beachside bars and restaurants to visit and established small apartment hotels and villas, 2016 has seen some major developments in the area with three hotels opening on Shoal Bay East in one year.
Shoal Bay East is a world-renowned beach; a two-mile stretch of feathery white sand and a calm, turquoise shoreline. Zemi Beach House was the first resort to open on the Shoal Bay East in February 2016. The beachfront property offers world-class facilities such as three dining restaurants, a specialist rum bar, a luxury Thai spa and two magnificent beachside pools.
Fountain Shoal Bay has recently opened as a boutique resort. Nestled beside the stunning Shoal Bay beach, the 12 key resort offers a smaller, intimate and affordable accommodation option on the island. Framed by swaying coconut trees and lush tropical gardens, the resort is a quiet retreat offering fully furnished apartments with fully equipped kitchens, fresh water swimming pool and BBQ areas.
November will see the beautiful Manoah Boutique Hotel open its doors. The stylish, St Tropez style hotel will consist of 25 suites, 1 presidential penthouse and a luxury spa and members beachside restaurant and bar. The hotel will be part of the Small Luxury Hotels group and a wonderful addition to this fabulous stretch of beach and popular area of Anguilla.
The hotels are perfectly placed to take advantage of the emerging dining scene on this side of the island. East End eateries include Elite, Hibernia, gorgeous Scilly Cay and Artisan Pizza Napoletana. The east side beaches are also home to many of the best beach bars on the island including Gwen's Reggae Bar & Grill, Palm Grove at Junks Hole, the Pelican Bar and Grill to name just a few.
