The purpose-built retail space and the beach club overlook the Aegean Sea and have been designed by award-winning Greek architecture firm K-studio; a young, fresh and highly-acclaimed Greek architecture firm with offices in Athens and London. They have created structures that offer a modern take on the natural yet chic aesthetic for which Crete is known and loved.
Melissa Odabash, who will be at Blue Palace in July to launch the pop-up in person comments: “Over the years I have completely fallen in love with Greece and Blue Palace Resort & Spa in Crete is my idea of paradise. I am very much looking forward to opening this beautiful new retail space at such a beautiful hotel.”
Set on the sizzling north coast of Crete, Isola Beach Club opens in July 2016 to become Europe’s newest summer hotspot. Set amongst olive trees, it will offer a bohemian luxe feel, comprising a spiral stone building with a stylish bar, laidback but chic restaurant and top DJs performing day and night.
Daybeds and swings will dot the private 200-metre white pebble beach overlooking the iconic 13th Century castle on Spinalonga Island and the clear blue hues of the Aegean Sea. By day, guests will be able to shop Melissa’s latest collection, enjoy healthy drinks and snacks made with local ingredients and show off their new swimwear purchases during an afternoon of sun-worshipping to laidback beats.
By night, Isola Beach Club transforms into a glamorous, buzzing hotspot, with cocktails crafted by expert mixologists and monthly Full Moon parties, perfect to showcase Odabash’s collection of dazzling, embellished kaftans and eveningwear.
The 2016 Melissa Odabash collection, available at the Blue Palace pop-up boutique, celebrates the female silhouette, drawing inspiration from 70s icons such as Raquel Welch. A variety of contrasting lines and textures, combining key, versatile pieces that make the SS16 collection wearable from day-to-night - perfect for Isola beach club. Stand-out items such as the suede ‘Dorian’ skirt, ‘Greece’ and ‘Athens’ bikinis and the ‘Crete’ tote bag.
The High Summer collection continues the timeless seafaring theme, with colours that reflect those of the Aegean – deep navy, exuberant blues and fresh whites. All swimwear is suitable for ocean-cruising and diving into the open waters, perfect for an excursion on Blue Palace’s private traditional caique boat or a sojourn to the iconic Spinalonga Island, which Blue Palace overlooks. Odabash’s bohemian style pieces offer a laidback alternative, whilst wrap dresses and cascading kaftans all enable the effortless poolside look – perfectly mirroring the chilled out Isola design and vibe.
Agapi Sbokou, Managing Director of Blue Palace Resort & Spa is delighted to welcome Melissa Odabash’s designs to the resort: “We have always been great fans of Melissa Odabash at the resort, so are delighted to be collaborating with her for the launch of Isola. Our new Beach Club is now the place to be seen in Greece, so it makes sense for our guests to have access to the hottest swimwear on the market!”
