C&E’s rising stars join QHotels’ ‘Event Profs Panel’

PwC, ArrangeMY and Bentley Motors are among 15 companies helping to inspire the future of C&E, as QHotels announces the rising stars of the industry on its new ‘Event Profs Panel’.

Members of the Event Profs Panel - each with less than five years’ experience in the industry - will come together to explore what is important to the new generation of bookers and organisers, inspired by recent research showing a shift towards younger C&E bookers and professionals.

Following an online application process, QHotels has selected two panels - one for events agencies and one for corporate bookers – each taking part in a programme of activity starting this summer to discover what bookers want and need in 2016 and their vision for the future.

Event Profs Panel round table events will be held at QHotels venues from July, followed by a number of online discussions to gain new insights and explore different perspectives on the industry’s big topics, from the Brexit debate and the skills gap to emerging technologies and personalisation.

Lizzie Thomas, Senior Venue Finder at Brief2Event, said: “I believe that events bring people together which is why delivering them is such a great passion of mine. Joining the panel I want to see how I can improve and make a difference within our ever-changing industry.”

Claire Rowland, Director of Marketing at QHotels, commented on the launch saying: “In-line with industry research, we’ve noticed a significant number of new people entering the events industry and this is the first step in going beyond looking at feedback and actually bringing this new audience into our planning process.

“There’s a huge appetite amongst the new generation to have their voices heard and contribute to the future of the C&E industry. Bringing this impressive panel line-up together for the first time will help them to share valuable industry insights from both agency and corporate perspectives with a wider audience, but also help them to build new networks for the future.”

Gabbie Vallance, Event Co-ordinator at BCMS Corporate Limited, said: “The QHotels Event Profs Panel is a fantastic opportunity for my generation of event organisers to meet people within the industry.  I’m really looking forward to gaining knowledge as well as putting forward my own ideas for the future of conferencing and events.”
