La Folie Douce returns to Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes

La Folie Douce

After its huge success at La Plage Barrière Le Majestic Cannes last year, La Folie Douce returns from the mountains to the Mediterranean again this summer to provide Cannes with its own blend of exciting evening entertainment.

In July and August, evenings will once again take on a party atmosphere at the Majestic’s beach, with La Folie Douce staging its spectacular show and array of talents every evening. Performers, singers, dancers, musicians and DJs provide the entertainment as part of a colourful show which creates the exciting ambience so typical of La Folie Douce, a concept first developed in the ski resorts of the Alps.

The evening starts at 7pm with a dinner-show. The music and entertainment are choreographed by Sergey Novikov who was also responsible for this winter’s show in Val d’Isère. Dinner is provided by Franck Mischler, La Folie Douce’s executive chef, who has created a special La Folie Douce by Le Majestic Barrière Cannes menu. At around 11pm, beneath a starlit sky, it’s time to take to the dance floor, which stays open until 2am. With an exciting mix of sounds created by top DJs, La Plage is transformed into an open-air night club where you can dance the night away until the early hours of the morning.

Once again the hippy-chic ambience is provided courtesy of designer Jean- Michel Villot. Brightly coloured cushions, patchwork pouffes and rugs with Indian motifs all create a laid-back vibe which contrasts with the highly charged atmosphere of the evening.

More exciting and impressive than ever, La Folie Douce offers truly unique evening entertainment on the French Riviera.

Overlooking the legendary Boulevard de la Croisette, the Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes warmly welcomes guests to a world where luxury and elegance go hand-in-hand with both history and modernity. This majestic palace-hotel boasts 257 guestrooms and 92 suites, two of which are luxurious Penthouse suites covering 650sqm and 450sqm respectively. The Penthouse Majestic, with its sun terrace and private swimming pool on the top floor of the hotel, offers unparalleled views of the Côte d’Azur. From the Lérins islands to the Estérel mountains, and including the hills of Le Suquet, the city’s beautiful views are full of shimmering colour at any time of the day or night. Just one floor below, the Dior suite with its subtle decor which pays tribute to the creator of the New Look will delight lovers of luxury and comfort with its grey tinted panelling, Hungarian Chevron parquet flooring and huge sofas covered with crimson cushions. In 2015, the Majestic opened its Mélodie Suite, a superb 200m2 suite created by interior designer Nathalie Ryan who was inspired by the film “Mélodie en Sous-Sol“ (Any Number Can Win), many scenes in which were filmed at the Majestic in 1963.

The welcoming lounge and two large bedrooms enjoy stunning views of the Mediterranean thanks to a large glass dome, making this a truly relaxing and comfortable place to stay.

In addition, in this city which welcomes the Cannes Film Festival every year, the Majestic pays tribute to the silver screen with its own superb 35-seat cinema. Equipped with all the latest technology, the cinema can be rented for private viewings making it the perfect movie venue.

Food-lovers will also be in their element at the Majestic Cannes, which boasts three restaurants within the hotel itself: Le Fouquet’s Cannes, a famous brasserie offering a menu created in collaboration with 3-star Michelin chef Pierre Gagnaire; La Petite Maison de Nicole, which serves delicious Mediterranean cuisine; and Le Restaurant – La Plage – Majestic Barrière, where guests can enjoy specialities from southern Europe right on the beach.

Located on the first floor of the hotel, the Diane Barrière by Clarins spa is open every day, offering guests the full expertise and very best treatments available from this famous French brand. Tailored services and expert beauticians have helped to build the excellent reputation of this peaceful haven which covers an area of 450m2. A hammam, sauna, experiential shower and fitness room with a personal coach complete the picture, making this the perfect place for relaxation and well-being.
