BridgeStreet inspires Philanthropic spirit through Soles4Souls partnership

BridgeStreet Global Hospitality — the leading solution for international serviced apartment experiences -- works hard to make guests feel comfortable when they are away from home. Striving to ensure that people everywhere have a chance to feel cared for, BridgeStreet is working with nonprofit charity Soles4Souls.

Soles4Souls, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, has distributed 26 million pairs of shoes in 127 different countries and in all 50 states, since 2006. The organization’s primary mission is to fight poverty through the collection and distribution of shoes and clothing.

“In many developing nations, walking is the primary mode of transportation and everyday millions of people are exposed to unsanitary conditions that lead to disease, even death. Because of this, children are often prevented from attending school and adults are unable to work. Walking becomes unbearable, and a new pair of shoes provides relief so thousands can succeed,” said Nicki Aila, Donor Service Specialist of Soles4Souls.

BridgeStreet is Soles4Souls’ only major hospitality partner and has initiated donation pushes bi-annually with the first successful drive completed in March 2016.  BridgeStreet hopes to grow their efforts for Soles4Souls by reaching out to their partners.

“When we read on the Soles4Souls website that right here in the United States, 1 in 5 children live below the poverty line, and over 600,000 individuals are homeless — it felt overwhelming.  It is hard to believe that donating a pair of shoes can help, but it’s a start,” said Catherine Steen, BridgeStreet’s marketing manager of partner relations.

“BridgeStreet strongly supports the mission of Soles4Souls, and believes in their goal to eliminate severe poverty by 2050. We chose to partner with this philanthropy because it’s a cause that matters to us. We work hard to make our guests feel comfortable and we want to make sure that everyone has a chance to feel that way,” said Chana Borgh, BridgeStreet’s director of human resources.

With its innovative tiered system of six distinct brands, BridgeStreet provides guests with customized six- to two-star serviced apartment offerings, meeting every need from location to budget with more than 50,000 apartments in desirable and convenient locations in over 60 countries. Offering a memorable hospitality experience, BridgeStreet is widely recognized for uncompromised standards and a consistent brand experience.
