Grecotel celebrate Global Wellness Day with a week of inspirational activities to enhance wellbeing

Leading Greek hotel group Grecotel Hotels & Resorts launch Global Wellness Week across five of their properties in June. The five-day schedule aims to capitalise on Global Wellness Day, which is celebrated in 100 countries around the world spanning five continents, dedicated to living well and raising awareness for wellbeing. The celebration takes places this year on 11thJune, which will be extended through to the 17th by Grecotel.

A schedule of activities will take place in Crete at Amirandes, Caramel, Creta Palace, Meli Palaceand White Palace, as well as Cape Sounio in Athens. All five days will be focused heavily on detoxing and utilising the natural environment via well-being, fitness and cross-country activities. Grecotel has gathered together a formidable group of special trainers and gurus to teach unique programmes that focus on Yoga, sunset Tai Chi, hiking, biking, golf and wellness nutrition.

Each day starts off with a Cretan Detox Diet Breakfast showcasing in-house produce from Agreco, a magical organic farm and internationally acclaimed Tavern located in the mountains of Crete (the schedule will also include a trip to Agreco).

The following activities will take place across the five properties: morning Yoga and sun salutation, floating body and biomatic anatomysessions, Gong and Singing Bowl Yoga sessions, a skin session using a skin analysis machine by Biologique; hiking the E4 gorges; mountain biking tours in Rethymnon; golf lessons in Heraklion; tai chi at sunset; and candle-lit spa nights with various Ayurveda and Elixir treatments until midnight.

Grecotel aims to further strengthen the robust wellness philosophy already established across their hotels and resorts. Grecotel oozes stories and history from Greek mythology, offers excellent and authentic Ayurveda, and produces organic food (Agreco Farm) and an organic beauty range (Eau de Grece). Grecotel hopes to define the future of travel, offering such fitness programmes that are key to moving the future of tourism forward.
