The event will take place in the Peruvian capital on July 1st, with hundreds of hospitality leaders from across the region expected to be in attendance.
It will be the second time World Travel Awards has visited Peru, following a rapturously received debut in 2013, and first the time industry leading event has been welcomed to Swissôtel Lima.
An elegant and modern luxury hotel, Swissôtel Lima is located in the heart of San Isidro, the most attractive business, residential and cultural district of the city.
The five-star luxury hotel recently completed a multi-million dollar expansion, making it the place to be and be seen in Peru.
Ahead of the Latin America Gala Ceremony, WTA President Graham Cooke said: “It is a pleasure for World Travel Awards to confirm Swissôtel Lima as our host partner for the Latin America Gala Ceremony 2016.
“The property is acknowledged as one of the best in South America and it will be an honour for us to welcome our guests to the hotel in July.”
WTA was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry.
Today, the World Travel Awards brand is recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire. Each year WTA covers the globe with a series of regional gala ceremonies staged to recognise and celebrate individual and collective successes within each key geographical region.
Swissôtel Lima General Manager, Frank Spielvogel, said: “Swissôtel Lima, itself recognised as the South America’s Leading Business Hotel by World Travel Awards, has emerged as the best luxury option in Lima in 2016.
“Described as a titan of contemporary comfort, the hotel opened its brand new West Tower last year, with 101 extra rooms and many attractive features.
“With impeccable service and a superb location, Swissôtel Lima is the perfect choice for the savviest international travellers and major events.
“We are proud to host this year’s World Travel Awards Latin America Gala Ceremony and welcome all our friends in the travel industry.”
