Founded in 1964, this race for men and women, consists of eight stages, each with its own spectacular backdrop. This year the charming seaside town of Alanya is part of this historic route offering athletes and spectators another reason to explore this spectacular location on the Turquoise Coast.
Alanya’s loveliest hotel, the newly refurbished Alantur Hotel is sure to delight both race participants and their cheering sections. Nestled elegantly on a wide stretch of wide sanded beach fronting the sea, this modern beachfront resort in an ideal location set within a naturally rich botanical garden, is an oasis of calm and beauty with wide array of activities on offer.
Once the race is complete, athletes and spectators can unwind by any one of the 3 outdoor swimming pools or spend the day swimming at the private sanded beach where water sports such as jet-skis, banana-boats, water skiing, parasailing, catamarans, surfing, pedal boat, and canoes are available. There is also an indoor pool, sauna, steam bath, Turkish Hamman, fitness room, and a lovely spa on offer. For those who like to take their fitness outdoors there is mini-golf, mountain bikes, tennis courts, a basket-ball court, and beach volleyball. And just in case any bases were left uncovered there is table tennis, Boccia, a billiards table and yes, even outdoor archery.
The 350 room hotel is the first hotel ever purchased by the internationally prestigious Dogus Group back in 1976, and the illustrious hoteliers are planning major changes and renovations to this seaside and sun-soaked hotel. With further alterations planned for the 2017 season, this summer will see a soft refurnishing and stylish new bar and restaurant areas. Alantur’s closest airport is Gazipasa, a mere 20 mins away. Additionally, guests can drive from nearby Antalya Airport (1.5 hours).
