The Grand Brighton has launched GB1 Cookery School, a culinary experience for seafood lovers seeking to gain an understanding of the skills and techniques required for cooking with fish and shellfish.

Under the expert guidance of The Grand’s executive chef and seafood expert Alan White, the GB1 Cookery School (from £100 pp) is perfect for keen cooks who wish to learn more about local fish available from the Sussex coast, seasonality, ingredients that complement different types of fish and the methods of preparing and cooking different seafood.

Guests also have the option to upgrade the package to a Luxury GB1 Cookery Break (from £350 pp) perfect for couples and groups who not only enjoy excellent seafood, but who are also looking to escape to the seaside for a luxury break.

Both packages will include a 2 hour cookery class and feature:
·         An introduction to The Grand’s seafood restaurant, GB1, and its food philosophies
·         Seafood cookery demo from Alan White
·         Try it yourself! Prepare and cook the dish
·         Sit down to enjoy your culinary creation with a glass of wine (matched to the dish), fresh bread and scallop popcorn

The Luxury GB1 Cookery Break also includes a Sunday night stay in a Classic Double Room, dinner in GB1 and breakfast.

Executive chef at GB1, Alan White comments: “The cookery school provides the perfect opportunity for guests to become more creative with seafood at home. Feedback I often receive is that people feel intimidated, particularly when it comes to cooking with shellfish, so I am looking forward to eradicating this by highlighting some simple skills and techniques that can be applied as well as showcasing the fantastic produce the Sussex coast has on offer.”
