The Coniston Hotel & Country Estate - currently Welcome to Yorkshire’s “Business Tourism Venue of the Year” - has developed the 16,500ft2 Spa as the final piece in the jigsaw at what is one of the north of England’s flagship hotels.
The Coniston Spa is located adjacent to the 71-bedroom hotel on the main Skipton to Kendal road, and just one hour from Leeds and Manchester. It directly overlooks The Coniston Estate and its 24 acre lake. As the winner of the 2015 White Rose Award for Business Tourism, The Coniston is already seen by many Yorkshire and Lancashire companies as the perfect venue for company conferences, meetings or other corporate events.
Now managers at the hotel are moving into the wider UK corporate incentives market, with a major push in 2016 to make incentives buyers and agencies from across Britain more aware of the Yorkshire Dales – and particularly The Coniston Hotel, Spa and Estate – as a base for their groups. “We’re aiming ideally for residential meetings of 20-50 people and day conferences of up to 200”, said Head of Marketing Gill Venning.
“The automotive, finance, manufacturing and retail sectors are high on our list, and there’s an open invitation to all bookers of corporate events to come and see The Coniston, try out the new Spa and also have a go at some of our fantastic corporate activities”.
Gill has found more companies realizing that adding an activity package onto a conference or meeting is a great way of building team spirit.
“With the help of Paje Consultancy, and Mandy Paje’s vast experience in the meetings and events industry, The Coniston will be organizing a number of familiarization days and “taster” event days between now and the summer, so that the business market can see just how the spa and other corporate activities can add value and excitement to a company’s conference or incentive programme, and give their employees a motivational edge”, she said.
The Coniston’s five meeting rooms accommodate from two to 200 delegates, and enjoy great views, natural daylight and state-of-the-art presentation equipment and WiFi connectivity, and the hotel’s wide range of bespoke activity packages and team-building events.
