Spring sees the opening of Motel One München-Olympia Gate in the trendy district of Schwabing, the 7th Motel One in the Bavarian capital. The hotel is a short ride from Bavaria’s most popular attractions including BMW World, BMW Museum and the Olympiapark. The hub of the hotel, the One Lounge has its own unique design theme inspired by the local area. Seeking inspiration from the 1972 Olympic Games and German graphic designer, Otto“Otl“ Aicher, the One Lounge features Olympic rings in different variations and the unique architecture of the stadium. The summer welcomes the first opening in Switzerland, Motel One Basel. Nightly room rates start from 98CHF in this wonderfully located hotel on Freie Strasse, next to Basel’s central square, Barfüsserplatz. The 143 room hotel is a great base to explore the city’s museums, Basel Minster and enjoy boat trips on the Rhine.
The summer also boasts the arrival of the third Motel One in Stuttgart, Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt. Located in the oldest district of Stuttgart, Bad Cannstatt, the area is well-known for the annual three week festival, Cannstatter Wasen. As the year draws to a close Motel One adds another German hotel to its impressive portfolio, Motel One Freiburg, in the south–west of the country.
