One of just 50 4-star hotels in the UK to be highly recommendedThe Arden Hotel, in Stratford-upon-Avon, has gained 4 AA Silver Stars after being selected as highly recommended.
The AA has launched the newly-created award for both its hotel and guest accommodation recognition schemes to coincide with the publication of its 2016 Hotel and B&B Guide.
The award is given only to hotels which offer a superior level of quality within their star rating; high standards of hotel keeping, in particular hospitality, service and cleanliness; and hold an AA Rosette award for the quality of their food. A 4-star hotel must achieve a merit score of 83% or more to be recognised for the award. Nationwide benchmarking is also taken into consideration.
The Arden, which previously held 4 AA Black Stars and has 2 AA Dining Rosettes, offers conference facilities for up to 40 delegates as well as exclusive use and a range of corporate packages. It is now one of just 50 4-star Highly Recommended Silver Star hotels among the thousands that the AA inspects in the UK.
Garry Baldwin, AA Senior Hotel and Restaurant Inspector, said: “The award is positioned between Black Star quality inspected hotels and the Inspectors’ Choice Red Star Award, which is the ultimate accolade.
“The Highly Recommended Silver Award at The Arden showcases the team’s commitment to hospitality and the overall guest experience. This really is a great example of this newly-created award – congratulations to the team.”
The Arden’s General Manager, Josefine Blomqvist, added: “We are delighted that our hard work and excellent standards have been further recognised by the AA. The entire team has worked very hard and this industry recognition is well deserved.”
The AA award is the latest good news for The Arden, which recently won Gold in the Taste Trail at the Stratford Food Festival after being voted for by the public.
The Arden is a contemporary boutique hotel in the heart of historic Stratford-upon-Avon, directly opposite the world-renowned Royal Shakespeare Company Theatres.
The hotel boasts a Waterside Brasserie, complete with Champagne bar and all-weather terrace for al-fresco dining. Popular dishes include Alscot farm venison carpaccio, picked girolle, toasted hazelnuts, red wine poached salsify and goats cheese curd; steamed cod pave wrapped in banana leaf, with coconut lentil dahl, saffron pilau rice, and south Indian-style green beans tossed in coconut; and dark chocolate pave, Griottine cherries and cherry sorbet with Chantilly cream.
