Unrivalled rooftop pool and Bar opens in Sydney at The Old Clare Hotel

rooftop pool and bar, Sydney at The Old Clare Hotel
International hotel group Unlisted Collection: has opened their highly anticipated Rooftop Pool and Bar at Sydney’s recently launched The Old Clare Hotel. The latest instalment for the 62-room boutique design hotel, the Rooftop Pool and Bar will offer an entirely unique and unrivalled experience in Sydney, with a 14 metre roof top pool and sweeping lounge area overlooking the city skyline.

Launching just in time for the antipodean summer, the rooftop of the Carlton & United Breweries administration building offers a panoramic retreat to relish in drinking, swimming and relaxing. Set above the thriving Chippendale precinct on the fourth level of the hotel, the space is open to both guests and visitors of the hotel, who are invited to enjoy the unbeatable setting on casual summer days.

Drinks at the Rooftop Pool and Bar by Matt Fairhurst (Beverage Director of Jason Atherton’s Kensington Street Social), differ from the pun filled cocktails of The Clare bar and include simple but delicious summer flavours like chamomile and orange barley water. Refreshing and expediently served cocktails are offered on draught, as well as the frozen Miami Vice cocktail – a ridiculously layered Pina Colada and Strawberry Daiquiri served in a frozen hurricane glass. There are also Spritzers, long mixed drinks and gin & tonics with a twist of flavours such as dill or Islay whiskeydrops. Also available will be a selection of beers, both draught and bottled, and a selection of spirits. For those who prefer to steer clear of alcohol, there is fresh juice and non-alcoholic Spritzers.

Mornings start right at the Rooftop Pool and Bar, with exercise and yoga sessions, not only for hotel guests but welcoming neighbourhood locals and Sydneysiders. Classes include yoga, cardio boxing, circuit classes and personal training.

Since opening its doors in September, The Old Clare Hotel has solidified its position as a distinctive and unique design-led property constructed with obsessive attention to detail. Under the engineered expertise of Tonkin Zulaikha Greer Architects, two iconic heritage-listed buildings – the former Clare Hotel pub and the Carlton & United Breweries administration building – are adjoined by a glass atrium link way.

Patrons can retreat at The Old Clare Hotel Rooftop Pool and Bar Wednesday to Friday from 3PM and Saturday and Sunday from 11AM. Closed Monday and Tuesday. The Rooftop Pool and Bar can also serve as an exclusive space for events.
