Food and Beverage experts recruited to oversee restaurants and bars at InterContinental London – The O2

InterContinental London – The O2 has recruited a team of restaurant and culinary experts to oversee its extensive food and beverage offering across the luxury new hotel, including five destination restaurants and bars and a 3,000+ guest banqueting operation.

Having worked for the hotel’s management company and owner, The Arora Group, for seven years overseeing Conference and Banqueting Operations as well as fine dining, 3 AA Rosette restaurant Le Belle Époque at Sofitel London Terminal 5, Daren Pavey now takes the helm at the InterContinental London – The O2 as Executive Head Chef across all dining and banqueting operations. With over 30 years’ experience in the industry, with senior chef roles at Radisson Edwardian Hotel London Heathrow and InterContinental Sydney, Daren brings solid restaurant and event catering experience to the InterContinental London – The O2, Arora’s largest hotel to date.  

Michael Sodah joins the hotel as Executive Sous Chef from his previous roles at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel Further experience gained at Sofitel London Terminal 5; Sodah has the enthusiasm and drive to showcase his flair for simple yet elegant presentation and a passion for excellence across large-scale dining operations.  

With nearly 15 years in the industry, Andor Karadi joins as Food & Beverage Manager from the InterContinental London Park Lane as Restaurant and Bar Operations Manager, bringing with him solid knowledge of the InterContinental brand standard of luxury operations. Karadi also has extensive experience in the luxury market from his time at the Fairmont St Andrews where he held various food & beverage leadership positions over 8 years, so brings a wealth of premium hospitality experience to London’s largest new luxury hotel.  

Other new members of the team include Adrian Camp who joins as Restaurant Manager for the hotel’s informal open and interactive kitchen dining experience, Market Brasserie; Adrian joins the team from London’s Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel, from his role as In-Room Dining and Executive Lounge Manager. Sushant Rana joins as Bar Manager of Eighteen Sky Bar, the InterContinental London – The O2’s stylish and sophisticated rooftop cocktail bar with panoramic views of the City; Sushant joins from The Hippodrome Casino and previous to that, the Aqua Restaurant at The Shard in London.  In addition, Roland Bathge joins as Bar Manager of the Clipper Bar, with a British led spirit, wine and food menu; Roland joins the team from Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel from his role as Bar, Lounge and Sushi Manager, of the Primo Bar and ICHI Sushi restaurant.

The 18 storey InterContinental London – The O2 opens winter 2015 on the Greenwich Peninsula directly adjacent to The O2 Arena and opposite Canary Wharf.  Dining experience includes The Peninsula fine dining restaurant, open-kitchen Market Brasserie, Clipper Bar at the hub of the hotel, Meridian Lounge with 40-seater terrace on the ground floor and the rooftop sky bar, Eighteen.  

The hotel also features a dedicated conference centre with an impressive 3,100sqm pillar-free ballroom and pre-function space overlooking the River Thames as well as 453 guestrooms and suites including a luxury Penthouse and a Spa with ESPA treatments and 17m indoor swimming pool.  

The InterContinental London - The O2 is managed and operated by The Arora Group under a franchise agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®).
