Alila unveils fifth property on Bali with the launch of Alila Seminyak

Alila Seminyak has opened on Bali’s south west coast. Located less than 30 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport, this latest addition to Alila Hotels & Resorts’ Bali collection enjoys an unrivalled beachfront setting along the sophisticated shores of Seminyak, Bali’s upscale resort destination. Renowned for great surfing, spectacular sunsets, and the buzz of glamorous beach clubs, the resort is just a few minutes’ walk to Seminyak town, home to an eclectic mix of chic boutiques, galleries, restaurants, cafes and nightspots, making it the hippest location in Bali.

Alila’s fifth property on Bali, Alila Seminyak comprises of 240 contemporary styled rooms and suites with one spectacular penthouse, all embracing uber-cool design and chic comfort. Connected by shimmering pools cascading between leafy vertical gardens, the resort will be a hub for those who want to explore this lively part of Bali.  The resort has created a range of new Alila Experiences, which will allow guests to discover the local surroundings, culture, traditions and cuisine. Guests can travel this southwestern stretch of coastline, jaunting along in the retro comfort of a fully restored vintage 1980 Volkswagen Kombi, learn to cook traditional Balinese food In Spice It Up or practice the art of mixology in the resort’s groundbreaking Cocktail Lab Shaken & Stirred.

The Sensational Retail Therapy experience sees guests whisked of in the VW combi for a day of shopping, with a personal assistant and exclusive access to the newest stores and hippest local designers. The ‘Twilight to Midnight’ experience starts with cocktails at sunset, before the VW combi takes guests to dinner followed by stops at the hottest bars and clubs on the island. After a night of indulgence, there’s no better way to recuperate than with Divine Healing, an Alila experience which features a private session of yoga on the beach with the resort’s own yogi, coupled with a private Balinese healing session performed at a nearby temple.

The resort is also home to a Spa Alila, which features eight private treatment rooms and offers guests the latest in organic nutrition, health knowledge and bespoke treatments led by local therapists. The spa has a dedicated hair spa, a reflexology lounge and a manicure and pedicure salon. The wide ranging treatment menu, encompassing techniques from all over the world, has been designed to help guests relieve stress, restore radiance and rejuvenate, with signature treatments that are unique to Spa Alila. Traditional Balinese massages sit alongside more unusual therapies. The Pak Wayan Signature Massage is a fusion of body melting technics such as lomi-lomi, acupressure and deep tissue muscle movement. Created by Pak Wayan, the treatment is famous all over Bali with customers traveling from far and wide to experience it. Spa Alila is the only resort to offer the treatment, with the therapists being trained by Pak Wayan himself.

Alila Seminyak is the first resort in Indonesia to surpass the rigorous EarthCheck standards, achieving a 44-point best practice score against the industry norm of five points. The resort’s eco and energy solutions include the use of local and recyclable building materials, operating completely paperless and using their own bottled water. In addition, low energy light fixtures, rainwater harvesting, environmental and building management systems have been implemented.
